Gratz on the ring. Only question I have is who in their right mind would wear something that ugly :P :P

Looks like a Russian design. Sometimes they put their marks in hard to see places, or in your rings case it could be a specific design pattern used to identify the maker.

Also the way the stones are set...could it be a Knights Templar piece?

I don't know nothing about any Knights Templar realtions with those ring ;)
It's a my greatest find for now. It's been a long time to collect any information about it. Proper dating was calculated with help of some german friends from the web. But even Cambridge couldn't say something about it ;)

That is a heck of a ring! Look at the size of the nuggets on it! It must be worth quite a bit if the jewels are real. HECK OF A NICE FIND!!! GJ!!!!
