Wanted to try North Ave. beach in Chicago again.
Not big on driving into Chicago at any time, but
the weather has been very warm here and the beach
got a lot of use over the weekend.

Up at 3:30 am out to the beach by 4:55am.
About a 30 mile trip one way into Chicago, but
at that hour no traffic. Also your allowed free
parking, at the beach, until about 8:00am,
which in Chicago is very expensive. Home by 9:00am.

Bottle caps, bobby pins, cans, (them machines
sure don’t pick them all up), lots of foil, $2.54 in
clean clad and, (BINGO), a very nice 14K ladies ring.
Stone has a very faint blue to it, have to have it
checked out at the jeweler

Was very pleased with the ring find, but just being
out there at sunrise made the day for me; just
a special feeling.

(Photos: Sunrise; Sand Machine; Folks detecting in the water; ring.)

all have a good un.

The lake shore there is always nice to look at and the sunset photo along with your finds is priceless to say the least.

My wife always asked me why I hunt (wildgame that is) and I always told her it is when nature comes to life and the first rays of the sun.

Kieth,

said hello to Ron, (MHRS), noticed he was working the water.

Beachhunter ID :-X :-X ;)

Don't go putting ideas in my head.

Very seldom do beach detecting, this is only the
second time in my life.

Mostly spend my time with artifacts out in the woods of
Cook and Will County. Using a Garrett 1500GTI.

Not a beach machine, gets the job done but acts up
the two times I've taken it to a beach; it is outstanding
on regular dirt, at the beach I've got problems pinpointing
and false signals. But like I said, not out there that much
and its a darn good machine for what I usually do with
it.

Out of work right now so I have more time to do
some different types of hunting.

Now if you could convince the woman that I need the
Beachhunter I'd invite you over for a few beers ;D

Congrat on your silver.

have a good un.............

That is a beautiful ring, congratulations! :) Did you find it in the sand or did you venture out into the water?
I can't believe all these beaches charge for parking. I've only been to two beaches in Ohio and they do not charge for parking, same in Minnesota they do not charge. I've driven on the highway(can't remember the name) in Chicago many times and no offense to the people of Chicago but I can't stand it! The speed limit is what 50 or 55 mph and people are driving 70 mph and cutting you off. lol I like driving fast but not when there are cars surrounding me in all the lanes. I've also seen a lot of accidents on that highway. Ya'll are crazy drivers! ROFL

Penny,

think you may be thinking of Lake Shore Drive.

Gets a little wild with some of the drivers, but the
ones you really have to worry about are the
ones going out with their metal detectors ;D

Aliotta, Haynes, and Jeremiah - Lake Shore Drive

There’s a road I’d like to tell you about, lives in my home town
Lake Shore Drive the road is called and it’ll take you up or down
From rags on up to riches fifteen minutes you can fly
Pretty blue lights along the way, help you right on by
And the blue lights shining with a heavenly grace, help you right on by
And there ain’t no road just like it
Anywhere I found
Running south on Lake Shore Drive heading into town
Just slippin’ on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound
And it starts up north from Hollywood, water on the driving side
Concrete mountains rearing up, throwing shadows just about five
Sometimes you can smell the green if your mind is feeling fine
There ain’t no finer place to be, than running Lake Shore Drive
And there’s no peace of mind, or place you see, than riding on Lake Shore Drive
And there ain’t no road just like it
Anywhere I found
Running south on Lake Shore drive heading into town
Just slicking on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound
And it’s Friday night and you’re looking clean
To early to start the rounds
A ten minute ride from the Gold Coast back make sure you’re pleasure bound
And it’s four o’clock in the morning and all of the people have gone away
Just you and your mind and Lake Shore Drive, tomorrow is another day
And the sunshine’s fine in the morning time, tomorrow is another day
And there ain’t no road just like it
Anywhere I found
Running south on Lake Shore drive heading into town
Just snaking on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound

have a good un....................

Nana,

no country boy here.

Born and raised on the south side of Chicago.
Remember the city well.

Just turned into a bit of an anachronism as I
grew older.
