Well..this forum is called "Spanish cobs" but.."mabey" its just junk with a bit of green and black crust..

I always pickup anything that's black and check it out. Unfortunately up here on Ormond today we had globs of oil coming up in the surf today I had to wash my feet off with dawn detergent! No cobs up here but I've heard stories of people finding them.

You got oil..we got tons of seaweed that I've never seen here...looks almost like kelp.
Not the Sargasso like normal.
So thick in spots it could be dangerous to a swimmer,surfer,diver.
I suspect this has come around the bottom of the state from the gulf through the Florida straights and up the gulfstream.
