Hi I found this in Beaver County Utah . Up by the old Lincoln mine which has been closed for years . It was orginally mined for Iron and i believe copper , silver and gold were also found as well as other metals . Thank you.

Copper gold silver and pyrite in quartz, yup. The big one is values, unless you find a chunk that weighs in at 10 lbs ( ridiculously heavy) you'd would have to crush up a lot of it to make the mining factor work. Beautiful piece, hunt around forhigh grade, miners were getting 5$ an oz for gold back then when silver was almost 20. High grade picking on that area might just lead to a wonderfull find!

Wondering what type of rock this is. Andesite? Picked it up because of the mineralization and pyrite peeking out of it. I know it's a leverite rock but I like to learn.

If it is a tool it may be a rocking crusher or grind stone. Found near a mineral bearing area?

Arizau, might be a oxen plow, might just be formed that way. I would take a pict and send it to the local university professor of archaeology, he should be listed on there web page. Good luck! Nice rock too.

I'd like some help identifying this awesome looking stone. I found this at Arapahoe Bar in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. My guess is it's Quartz, iron and mica. On one side there are what looks like iron shards.

On the side where it fractured there is a nice layer of quartz crystal

Here is the back which is shiny and glittery

Here's another of the front. This is the side I noticed in my sluice when I pulled it out.

Can anyone tell me what exactly I have here? Do you think it could contain a tiny spec of flour gold?

Purple, probably mica, the green crystal spears are tourmaline witch forms in quartz, talc, beryl rich conglomerates with mica. Ive seen it alot. Check it with a loop ( cheap ones are 4$ on ammazon). Use a pin to see if they pry apart, if it dents with a pin , crush it and pan it!.

Hi I'm a new member. I have a rock I need identified if possible 😀
I put a heap of rocks in my tumbler only for a couple of days. I can't recall what it looked like before I put it in but when I got it out it looks like it's been painted gold. Very strange. While it is heavy it's not gold heavy. Any ideas and help would be appreciated. Thanks
