Out today checking on a couple cellar holes. They were clean. However, while hiking the trails I found my first IH penny, with a gorgeous green patina. She's got a lttle pitting, but the rest of the details are great. It's in the olive oil now to loosen up the crud. Also, found shotgun shells galore. Picked up a few modern clad coins also.

Found what looks to be a musket ball or something. It appears to be lead. Let me know what yo think.

Also, found 2 shells. Appear to be the size of a modern .22. One has a "U" on the bottom and the striking pin hit on the edge and is rectangular. The other is just the base and says "US" on the bottom. Could this be military?

Thanks for looking. Here's the pics.

John

Thanks everyone. The pitting on the word UNITED is a bit more extensive than I first thought, but she's still a beauty.

Anyone have any thoughts on the "musket ball" or shell casings?

Thanks
John
