Oh yeah ~ COOL FIND!!

This is a new discovery piece. The latest edition of Bill Bone's book US DOG LICENSE TAGS has 1934 as the oldest known tag from Montrose CO.

I will forward him the image of your tag so he can update this info for the future editions of his book!

I looked up Van Wert Ohio ~ their oldest known tag is 1918! OK man. . . . now get out there and dig one earlier than 1918! LOL

Your 1965 Benton AR tag is a new discovery! Bill Bone's book US DOG LICENSE TAGS has listed 1968 as the oldest known tag from that town/city. I will forward a picture of your 1965 dog tag to Mr. Bone ~ then he will update this info for the future printing of his book!

Hi all, I,m not sure you have an interest in Dog tags from down under. Any way some states in Australia dog tags go back to 1850. Heres a couple from 1923 i found a few years ago

This one was easy to read,Washington Co. Maryland 1956.
