This might be a long post,I had somewhat of a fever this morning :D Didn't make it out to the field until after noon.This is the take for Today: 1-.69 minie,1-.54 minie,8-.58 minie's,1-.69 roundball and a .58 Gardner,9-buck's,a .36 pistol bullet,and another fired pistol roundball.Lead was Good....Also in the mix were 2- "worm's",2-stud's that are still attached to some leather,3-Percussion Cap's,a couple Brass What's It's and some scroll worked brass piece that is the same on both side's.The biggest smile on my face came from the cartridge box Finial,my second of the year....I also found some pontilled "black glass" with some mark's on the bottom but not enough to make out anything.This is probably one of my better day's in this field in a while.Thank's for looking,I have 20+ p

CORRECTION:The Cartridge Box Finial is actually a Scabbard Tip Finial....

Civilman, Love those old Bullets, A friend of mine years ago built me a replica of a 1700 Lancaster long rifle (Flint lock) all brass sand casted in the same techniques as they did back then, the stock cut, and carved from a Curly Maple Stump, all lock parts hand forged, only thing bought was the barrel (Green River) you would not believe how fast the lock time. Possibles bag I made From buckskin of deer I have killed, Antlers I make Buttons priming horns and charging horns, along with bullet starts. Will try to take some Pics and post in the next couple of days. Ever find any 50 cal. Round ball?

That has to be a good feeling to pretty much make your own rifle,I can understand the barrel though.When it's brown it's down...Nothing goes to waste in this household.No .50 cal. roundball's as of yet.?

Heck yeah that is what I like to see!! That was a HELLUVA day buddy!!! You did exceptionally well today. That is a nice array and variation of bullets too! You have 4 or 5 different types of bullets there and that is the best you can ever ask for. The leather rivets with the leather still attached is a NICE piece of history AND THAT FINIAL IS TOPS!!!!! Great job my friend and you cleaned them up VERY WELL. That is a hand FULL of lead to be proud of and they look like they are all dropped bullets. Even my girl, from seeing me go out, was looking at the computer screen and said "He had a really good day!" So there you go...she knows the average take and you had an above average day buddy. Congratulations! These types of days make those one or two bullet days worth it!!! :wink: :wink: :wink: :thumbsup:
