First, congratulations on finding a silver half! Second, the baking soda (and laying in the dirt for years...)ruined any numismatic value. BUT! third, it is just a very common Kennedy half.
Grading....I'd say "fine" but "improperly cleaned". Value= $5.94. https://www.silverrecyclers.com/Calculators/coin_calculator.aspx

Now, go back out there and find a $10 gold coin mounted in a bezel!

The knob at the top of the bezel should unscrew, allowing the coin to be removed.

I like the bezel myself.

Keep digging up the iron just to get it outta the way as something good may be masked.

As stated in post #3, the malt value of the half is just under 6 bucks.

I agree, leave it in the bezel. You'll find more silver halves and I'd bet a $100 you'll never find another in a bezel.

Im with the rest. Because its in a Bezel, and was cleaned with Baking Soda, it will only be worth silver bullion value. That is about $16.00 as of now. It changes all the time. I also would not remove it from the Bezel if it were mine. I like to leave items the way that I found them, and I also believe it adds more character to the piece. Someone obviously wore it on a chain around their neck as opposed to finding a drop that came out of someones pocket. Just my own opinion.

The melt value of a silver half is NOT $16.00 unless someone is buying at that rate in which case I have a bunch of them to sell immediately.
Also, I have a mercury dime in a bezel that looks very similar to this bezel and it is a key chain.

I wouldn't remove the bezel. Is it your first half? If so keep it the way it is and frame it with the next ones you find!!!!

Leave it in the bezel. Actually many years ago I found by a clothline a silver dollar in a bezel.{Now this is not a late April fools joke) i REALLY did find a Lafayette 1900 dollar and it was in a nice silver bezel. That find shook me and my friends up for a long time,

90% silver,1964 was the first year and only year of Kennedy’s that had that high a percentage. Others were 40% up til 1970 I believe...

I think what TreazureHunter was trying to say was that silver is now at around $16.00 (Per ounce) in melt value. A silver half dollar is typically just a little under 90% silver content. A half dollar would contain less than half an ounce of actual silver. So the value quotes above that say $5.94 are accurate. (Keep in mind that nobody will pay you full bullion value if you're selling it because they have to have a profit margin to make money. If they paid you full bullion value, they wouldn't make money)
