Nice old half penny :icon_thumleft: there was 3 versions minted yours looks like a A to the left of the lighthouse us a loupe to check it Good find  Dd60

A British 1862 Halfpenny (die letter A to left of lighthouse), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £2,000 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch up to £400 to £1,250 GBP.

A British 1862 Halfpenny (die letter B to left of lighthouse), circulated but still in good condition, might fetch up to £600 to £1,250 GBP.

A British 1862 Halfpenny (die letter C to left of lighthouse), circulated but still in good condition, might fetch up to £600 to £1,250 GBP.

I think that British coins were still being used in Canada at that time,
which might explain how one got to Michigan.

Or Mary Poppins dropped it on one of her flights.

Yes Kevin, I'm sure you can find them in Michigan as we find them here in Illinois also. Ron
