For a peasant to lose a penny, would have been bad news, a day's wage goneThat's what I thought. They looked really thin so I was curious about that. Pretty cool those were carried around that long ago. Probably a pretty day when whoever had them found out they lost them.
Damn Rob after seeing Bills post I went and looked at your gold coin....INCREDIBLE my friend. I have to ask, how did it turn out and do you have any pics after it was straightened?Robert - I'm really impressed with your mini-hot streak, but I was blown away when I saw your banner find. I didn't realize you had recovered a hammered gold a few years back. That has been at the very top of my list for a very long time, but the odds of digging one here in the states is much less than minuscule. But we can all dream, right .....
