Hard Rock Gold [no soft soil sissy's allowed]

Hi all, Turn that AC_DC up too full, just get ya in the mood for hard ground digging.Well spent the past week ,when i have had time at one of the local saddlereef mine lines.With spring the ground had stared to dry out and will be too hard to dig soon.This ground has broken types of digging tools over the years.Mostly only a few small pieces and the odd secie to be had here. Managed too gather quite afew small pieces just short of oz. [29.5] grams. Soft soil diggers who seem to reckon they have it too hard wouldn,t last 5 minutes in this sort of place. Plenty of hazards too and the outside temp is getting warmer everyday.Lots open mine shafts and unstable ground and few snakes and untold little bitey things.Too me this just heaven lol Now turn that ACDC back up. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Rock and Gold..........Love that kind of music...

Though I do complain when there is a stubborn root that needs cutting out of the way.

You did good. You can now afford a trip to Thailand to get your well needed and deserved back massages.

So opal potch ground is harder than quartz saddle reef. Interesting ;D ;D ;D. Commerical opal miners use machinery and the average person would go out after dark with a portable FL -lamp and work the shallow holes and tailing dumps. The glow of opal is quite clear. Most find only splitters of opal but some do get lucky. Being a good days drive from both Cooper Pedy and Lightning Ridge might make a week-end of it . Anyway much closer gem grounds to me which produce all sorts of wonder stones. ;D ;D ;D

He spoke about being stuck down a hole all day with a "jack hammer" and loved to tell us how he really new how to use
one ::)

Anyway he and his friend did come across a big load which set them up, he is now a gem stone dealer in London!
