My two cents but if you buy that at these prices you're going to catch a falling knife.

A huge portion of the buying/selling thus far has just been flippers. I'd see that as a terrible investment.

I agree, the artistic value of these items have taken a backseat to the melt value.. in this case worth approx $668 (25 oz?)

I just got one the other day for $975 directly from Amark. That price you quoted is WAYYY too high. They're going for around 2k on eBay right now. With some patience you might be able to get one from APMEX at the issue price.

The mint dropped the ball bad on these and this is why I would never buy them. Their decision to distribute them through 3rd party vendors has done nothing except put them out of reach for the average guy and allow severe price gouging. I will stick to buying a couple proof sets every year and even those are way overpriced the last few years. I have at least one of each year starting with 1955 though so I can't quit now..
