Diameter too big for a large cent. Maybe a state copper... or a King George penny.

Ahab8 (Abe) should be able to figure this out, PM him... or post in "Today's Finds". They will want a weight too. I am sure that one of the experts will ID this in no time flat.

Did you do what Carolina Tom said? I mean it looks like one of those electrical punch outs to me. It's next to impossible to identify a dug blank piece of metal. I also doubt it weighs 25 grams.

It's not it's made of copper electrical ko are all steel. I'll go ahead and message the fellow detectorist. The damage I believe is from farming equipment running over it because the area I search was once farm land. I figured it would be a long shot for my coin but what about my button? It's about the size of a half dollar maybe a lil bigger. Hallow like 1800s buttons I have found and silver plated I believe.

It might be a gram off but I weighed it it's definitely 24 or 25 or 26 grams it's pretty heavy

Thought it might be a cartwheel penny, but just a tad small and light for that.
(Cartwheels come in at 28g and 36mm)

Any hint of a raised rim?

After a closer look there is some letters and writing one the edge around the penny can't make out what it says . Do you know of any old copper coins that might have that?
