The State of Michigan is looking for input on the management of state forest land until Jan.2,2013. I think this is a great opportunity to let not only our members know so they can send in there comments but other groups around the state as well. If enough people send there comments in maybe we can make a positive change for Michigan.
Who can benefit?
People who like to metal detect, pan for gold, camp, hunt, run ATV's, fish, hike, ski, rock hounds, and the list goes on.

I will definately take of advantage of this opportunity. Whether or not the gov. will listen to its constituants I cannot say. Thanks Mike for your info and continuing looking out for those of us who care about our interests. Happy Holidays!

I have written also but I haven't heard anything back. I also would like to know when the Michigan DNR will change their website maps on where metal detecting is permitted in State Parks. Right now you can only detect in parking lots which are mostly paved. Is this dumb or what?

Good info Mike, thanks. I agree with Sandman, most of the state parks in my area are gravel parking lots only :tongue3:

Good info Mike!! Thanks for sharing
