Help with buckle ID

I found this buckle today any idea of its age or use. I have found some 1850s buttons in this area. Never found a buckle like this before. Your help Identifying it is appreciated.

It is referred to as a batwing buckle. I've always liked the design of these buckles. Nice find! :thumbsup:

yup, its a slight variation of the batwing buckle, 1840s-1850s

Good even more evidence that these are mid-19th C.
