Was on I-95 today and was assisting an older couple who had a flat tire, I noticed a lot of stuff they had piled in the back of the van a lot looked antique-ish after we got the tire back on I told them I love antique stuff and collect a lot of civil war and 18th century stuff. The older man opened the back of the van and pulled this Howdy Doody box out and handed it to me and told me to open the box after they left which i did and SURPRISE... old 1940 Howdy Doody doll... :laughing7: what a first, the odd people i meet every day, i tell yah!!! :icon_scratch: :headbang:

Way to go!!! I saw that you also have a Fisher 1266x. I just bought it used. At what number do you set your 1 and 2 discriminator to avoid pull tabs????

Hey.. I've had the same Fisher 1266x for about 14 years now and it works like a pro and never ever had a issue with mine, the depth on it is good also but not like today's MDers of course but it still can go deep. Kinda hard to avoid pull tabs @ all but I set mine too #1 3 1/2 and # 2 @ 5. I been using it for so long I can tell right away if it's junk or something I should dig up, also these settings will make a big piece of iron on #1 sound good but on #2 sound alittle trashy but not fully trashy like a nail since I like to dig big iron pieces in CW camps.. Good luck! :occasion14:

haha my dad used to sing

"It's Howdee Doody Time,
it isn't Worth a Dime,
it smells like turpentine,
it's Howdee doody time"

a few times when he was messing around in his shop

Great deed and a good gift,

Cool...but creepy. Hopefully it's not possessed and they were trying to pawn it off on you! Sleep with one eye open, or keep Mr. Doody in a locked box!

That's exactly what I was thinkin', looks a little too much like "Chuckie"
