I work in a coal mine and we use bits kind of like this to drill anchors in the bottom for drives. I would say within 40 years.

I would say pre 1970's. I worked for years in granite quarries in the 70's and all the bits we used had carbide strips the length of the contact points. Those tips don't appear to have any and if they were missing you could tell right off. It is a water bit by the looks of it.

B H , I'm pretty sure before 70's. I used to think the area was mined in the 30's, based on some records while researching the property but now I'm thinking maybe as recently as the 50's. The bit has threads and just one hole on top. Googled images and it is old but can't narrow down a decade. Thanks for the help I'll keep looking. P.S. not that the 50's are old.
