Prior to today I had found 174 silver coins in 2013, compared to 179 last year. Didn't think I would get out again this year with the cold weather and snow we have had in Mass but it has been very warm the past few days and this morning I decided to hit a local ball field that dates to the 1920's. There was still some snow on the ground when I started but by midday it was all gone and the ground was wet and easy to dig. Within about 3 hours of hunting I had 5 silver coins to tie last year, including a beautiful 1947 Walker and the no date SLQ. It took another 2 hours to find #180, the 1944-D Washington Quarter. Very pleased to have topped last year's total after figuring I had no chance a few months ago.
