Today. Probably because my boxes of halves didn't come in today. I feel empty.
I feel like I'm so addicted to this hobby that I honestly feel something is wrong if I'm not CRHing at some point everyday. I hate getting all new coins like 2010 pennies although I have sold some that I've gotten before. I just prefer the circulateds even though one has the possibility of getting skunked or getting little. When friends call me up to ask me to go hangout, I turn them down because I want to CRH. Is there something wrong here?

My order of halves didn't come in today so I feel empty despite me getting 3 boxes of pennies. I'm going to get my first box of nickels to CRH tommorrow.

Does everyone else here feel the addiction?

What are friends? I only have acquaintances at the bank. :icon_pirat:

That's the best one.. that is if you can find others that enjoy the hobby too. If I had kids, that's something I could do with them.

it is pretty addicting. My friday boxes were delayed until tuesday so I went around looking for some halves and rounded up about $80 in skunks but I picked up $250 in dimes and got 2 Roosevelts, 1953 and 1964.

Just waiting for my two boxes on tuesday!!

EXACTLY
i try not to mention my CRHing at work or when i'm with friends because of that, but sometimes i'm like: "look what i found today! 2 franklins" :headbang:
and they just look at me in mercy ??? and think (and sometimes say) : "you carried a 25 lb. box from the bank and back to a different bank, searched it for an hour, got your hands dirty, and you made $20? "

i try to explain it's not just the money i made, i mean it's also the profit of course, but if it was only money i could work an extra hour or two and make more money than CRHing.. but they won't get it. :dontknow:

maybe it's good that people laugh and make jokes about CRH, as long as they don't take it seriously, they won't do it themselves - less competition around me!

Just like gambling.. it's like the uncertainty of it that makes it so appealing. You never know what you'll get. If you knew everytime what you were going to get in every box and it was the same, you wouldn't like it as much versus this where you don't know what you'll get. To this day, I still find something interesting every other week or so. I may not get rich off it but you never know. Might find a 1969-S doubled die cent in BU condition one day (who knows). Couple days ago, I found a 1925 cent in better condition than the one I had and replaced it in the old whitman folder.

My friends are the same way.. they don't seem to care but yet they haven't done it. I guarantee if they did it once and got a good box (say 20 keepers), they would be hooked. It's like going to a casino but not usually losing (occasionally you get shorted). Worst thing is you get skunked. Back to square one. At the casino, you may lose your A$$ and you spent money driving there too. It's a long drive home if you lose. Yeah, it takes time but so do casinos. Some may hit it big quick or lose quick. Who wants the risk.

It's like why buy a pack of baseball cards to look for a key player card when you get it for face value and not lose out on the deal. Gonna pick up a box of nickels for the first time tommorrow. Wish me luck. Hope I pull a buffalo because that's all I'm aiming for.

Yes I say this addicting. I look forward now for my boxes. I go to the banks every other day and ask for halfs. I am waiting here for a good time to leave on a small road trip looking for halfs. Only have until noon to hit as many banks as I can. If I spent on the money I have on me for halfs and I still have time I will start sreaching them. Then I can cash them in and get more rolls. Yes I say this is addicting. Come on 8a.m. so I can leave....Matt

You have to reply back, "You would rather have me spent $600 on a set of golf clubs, $100 on a pull cart, extra cash for shoes, golf balls, lunch etc. then spend 6 hours on a Sunday paying $75 for a round of golf?"

Very addicting! I must get at least one wild silver each week. Otherwise I will feel empty for sure.

Man, you hit that on the head. After work at night, with out something to look through, I feel incomplete.

Exactly, Why waste money to do things? Why waste $20-50 to even go to lunch or bars with friends? I used to go to the gym and enjoyed workouts but now if I realize if I had a choice of working out vs. CRH, I would pick CRH. It's like a drug.

hmmmm how about every week i have plans to dump or hunt. Every trip or vacation has stops for hunting. My wife is sent out regularly so my face is seen less. I watch the price of silver from sunday nite to friday nite. My house car and locker at work are full of coins . I bought a mechanics "gripper" to get the coins that fall in spots to small for my hands. I have about 15 bank accounts some more then 20-30 miles from my house. I have 5 binders with maps and notes from 5 different states with notes of silver , dumping , free coin counters , hvy-light competition , and if a teller collects . I dont do facebook , twitter or aol but here i am chatting with you people. When i get a call from a bank telling me they got some halves in i have to ask what town and which branch , luckily my phone tells me what state . I will drive up to 2 hours away to go on a hunt.

Dont let my wife see this but i only enjoy 2 things currently , my kids and CRHin.

they can laugh all they want, i wont even begin to tell stories of peeps laughin at me because i quietly get the last laugh when under their noses or "at the bank next door " i find a little score.

Kinda harsh..but I get it.

For some of us CRHing is the equivalent of joining a softball or bowling league.

Same there. I used to go to the gym 3 times a week. Stopped the gym for about 2 years because of CRH. Now go to the gym once per week to regain my pecs.
