Forgot to sort a basket of finds, my cat reminded me by knocking it to the ground :( Anyway, 1. Is this a type of knife? And 2. What's the best type of glue to repair it? It's a clean break and it did suffer a big chip, hence the difference in patina.

SUPER glue. Works every time! Wipe any excess off with solvent.

I use elmers cause it will wash off in warm water and dries clear. Just in case you make a mistake you can go back and fix it.

Can't imagine white glue would hold flint together very well.
Pottery and bone sure.
I probably should have used it on this one...oops.
Just kidding their not glued.

On a side note.. this is that same Putnam point base after soaking in mineral oil because I wanted to see the material under the white patina.
Those two pieces were found on the same site but several feet apart.
They are both agatized coral.
I thought there might be an off chance that ground water patinated one totally different than the other.

I use super glue gel. Dab it on and spread with a small cheap kids paint brush. Gel won't run like regular super glue.
