I haven't been pulled over in ten years or so now (knock on wood), but I learned way back when that if I get pulled over, I punch the buttons and roll all of the windows down so that the officer can see everything in the vehicle at a glance.

You have done well there "grasshopper" :icon_thumleft: The book also mentions that the inside of your car will also play an important roll in the officers decision. Without the clutter the officer has fewer concerns and that alone is helpful. The book is interesting as it is as much about how the officers perceive the driver, as it is about saying the right thing.

RGINN also hit the nail on the head as to his approach. Keep in mind that it is up to the officers discretion as to whether, or not, he will write a ticket. Depending on traffic conditions, time of day, etc. I will drive on average 5-10 mph above the speed.

There is one little "shore" town where this book would be a joke and that is Sea Bright, NJ. That city is barely a strip that runs along the shore and that town survives on tickets of any nature :laughing7:
From 1am until about 3am, you will get a police escort from one end of the town to the other. It is actually nerve racking even when you are obeying the limit because these officers will ride your tail the whole length of the road. I have literally gotten this escort 8 out of 10 times. If you sneeze you best have a tissue, or you will get a ticket for spitting :tongue3:

I met a cop car at the top of a hill doing 85 in a 55, pulled off the rd before he could get his lights on. When I pulled out onto the rd 20 min, later he wrote me a ticket for attempting to elude. Over $500.00 ticket. When I went to court the Judge asked me how I was going to plead. I asked him to explain eluding. He pulled out a very large book and proceded to read, during that time he had said an officer in uniform dissplaying his lights. After he was done he asked how do you plead and I said not guilty due to the fact that the officer never had the chance to turn on his lights. Come to find out that the district attorney's office would not prosecute because of that. Now if he had got me on radar he would have had me there.

Here in Georgia they almost never pull you over for 10 over or less, but there was an article in our local newspaper about a specific area which is a steep hill, and you can't avoid going 20 over without riding your brakes. The sheriff of the county was quoted in the article something to the effect that county residents needed to be aware that officers in the county would be pulling people over for anything more than ten miles over the speed limit anywhere in the county. The sheriff is a long time friend of mine, and the next time I saw him I asked him if he'd had a blonde moment or what. I told him that his quote in the paper had just effectively raised the speed limit by 10 mph in every zone in the county. He just shook his head and agreed that he hadn't thought it out properly. Now people routinely drive 35 in a 25, 55 in a 45, 75 in s 65. Nobody ever gets pulled over for those speeds, and if they do, the sheriff's words will be quoted to get them out of a ticket, if not on the roadside, at least in court.

Certain grades will be thrown out in court.

I got pulled over a few years back & tried talkin my way out of it.............he kicked me in the ribs repeatedly & beat me severely with his stick. After a quick visit to the hospital then about a week in the county jail I was allowed to go home to heal. My left arm works almost as well as it used to. :icon_thumleft: Ive learned a very valuable lesson & now keep my mouth shut when dealing with law enforcement officers. :laughing7:

Dash cam will would've gotten you out of that one. If not in view of cam, Why? Officers are trained to keep in view of the cam. If not, they would not pull in behind but in front.
