I know this isn't crh related, but I didn't want to start a new thread. I went to my grandparents auction house tonight and my grandpa gave me a 1981 proof set that he bought for me. To keep part of this post crh related I should be able to go to the bank later this week. I haven't decided what I am going to get yet. I am liking cents very much at the moment. Happy hunting!

Which type set is it?

Type I or Type II?

(Here's a link to check against since I can't tell from your pic: )
1979-S & 1981-S Ty-2 SBAs

It looks more like the type 1 to me, but my eyes aren't the greatest either. The s on the Susan b Anthony dollar looks a lot like the picture of type 1.

My mom said she is going to the bank either tomorrow or Friday. I have $200 to get rolls. I am going to get 2 boxes of cents, and that will leave me with $150. I think I might try a nickel box. Nickel boxes are $100 right? Then maybe $50 in either dimes or half dollars. Do y'all think I should get dimes or halves? Happy Hunting!

Yep, nickel boxes are $100.

With $50, I'd go with dimes... more rolls to look through. $50 is 1/5 box of dimes but only 1/10 box of halves.

Thanks for your input. I am just going to get $50 in dimes. I have never had luck with halves anyway. The last time I got halves it was 5 solid rolls of bicentennials. Happy hunting!

Hey hunter.

I suggest getting 200$ in cents. Sort your copper. You'll get plenty of wheats!
Wicka

I may do that next time, but I want to try a nickel box. I have never bought a whole box before. I may get $100 in cents and no dimes if they have enough cents. By the way how much copper have you managed to accumulate? I have $30 rolled and 3 foldgers coffee containers full of copper still waiting to be rolled.

If anyone is interested in what my coin roll hunting station looks like here is a pic. My mom said I had to keep it all in one place. And when she says to clean I can just put the top of the desk down and lock it, so no one can see it.

Agreed!
And hunter, I have about 40$ FV sorted. I just started sorting copper out, but have searched over 1000-1500$ in pennies. Oh the copper I've missed
Wicka

I have a goal of getting $150 in copper cents this year. Do you have a goal?

I don't know about copper cents in 5 gallon jugs, but I know about zinc cents in 5 gallon jugs. I know a lady that is hoarding zinc cents because she thinks the U.S is going to stop making them. She has been paying me face value for my zinc cents and putting them in 5 gallon jugs. At least I know they aren't going to be back in circulation for awhile. I sold her $100 in cents yesterday.

Here are the results from cent box #1 loomis August 15,2013.

Wheats- 1926, 1935, 1940x2, 1945, 1947, 1953, 1954, 1955D, and 1958.

Canadian- 2000

This is the best box I have had for wheats. The most I had ever gotten before was 7 in a box. The rest of the boxes are going to be gone through later. I will try and finish another box before I go to bed, and I will do the other 2 boxes tomorrow maybe. Happy Hunting!
