I have had good luck good luck in all mediums (gravel, woodchips, sand). In gravel it seems that targets don't go much further than the hard pan. Easy recovering targets, though. hh

Gravel ends up turning more coins and jewelry on edge than woodchips or sand. This can be troubling for the deeper targets. It also degrades jewelry faster. But you can use a magnet on a stick easier in gravel than in other mediums and that helps eliminate iron targets that may cause falsing or masking.

Just be sure to dig it all in the playground!
