I buried a couple brass plates in the park across the street with writing on them that said " If found while metal detecting call 847 298 **** for 2 silver dimes "
Well I got a call and this young boy Zach found 1 while detecting.
It was cool .. I gave him a 1916 dime , a 1944 dime and then a 1947 . He was happy....
I know the tag said 2 silvers but I wanted to give him a dime trifecta .
I told him there was 1 more out there.

I buried them in the first week of July and it took only 2 months for 1 to be found.

Here's some pics of the lucky finder..

I hope you told Zach about the wonderful folks here at TNet? :headbang: We are a cool bunch of Treasure Hunters.

Cool idea with burying the tags, sort of like geocaching. Glad a kid found them, too. The dime trifecta is a nice way of keeping him interested in the hobby.

Very cool! I wanna bury a plate saying

"call (insert #) if you find & I will give you $500",
"I will act like I don't know what your talking about but it's just part of the game so you have to keep at it even when I say I have no idea what your talking about & You must I repeat you must really press the issue to get your $500"

The number would be a # to someone I don't like too much!

LOL

That was a great idea you had & did there!

It's geocaching with a Metal detector, starting a new craze. Sounds like fun.
