I finally got something! I don't know what but...

I went to a "tot lot" this morning in West Warwick R.I. before hurricane Earl swings by and found some stuff- finally!!
This dime... I don't know anything about it- it's probably a "ho hum" but I'm darn excited! The date says 1927 on it!! This is the first cool thing I've found!

congrats on the gorgeous merc dime!!! I just found my first merc a few weeks back as well. It is an amazing feeling, enjoy it!

I see that too, dude coulda landed a mutli-silver hunt and not have known. Check all those finds thoroughly, silver is money in the bank!

Nah, the bracelet is just plated and that a solder mark. Nice though.
Here is 2 pics of that metal thing that looks like it has green/teal paint on it. Just wondering what it is. Anyone know?

Cool Finds..I found my first silver yesterday..its a great feeling..and that green thing looks like an old toy car that got hit by a lawnmower a couple times

Great finds and you to think you didn't know what you had.
I think the green piece of metal is part of a Matchbox/Hotwheel or similar type toy car. Looks to be the front end of one that got in the way of the mower blades and bend up and around. Look closely as it appears to be the grille work of a car.

I was sort of sure it was a mercury dime but not enough to post it as such, I try to watch all of your posts and try to match up the coins with what you are describing but it's a little tough- sitting, standing, half, etc... I'm getting there! A smart move would be to get a book with certain coins. Probably the way to go.
Poor little matchbox car. Darn shame!

with finds like that, you'll be an expert in no time. There is a lot of information that is shared on this board and it's shared freely.

That is a fine find, so is the rest. After a while it becomes old hat.

I don't know how to explain it, but as I drive down the road and look to the sides I can't help but wonder how many hidden coins have I just driven by? I look for the largest trees... I pull over and just stare into the woods... I must look like a serial killer staking out my next kill spot!
