Hi Everyone,

I was out in a VERY remote and old area today and found this ring.

IMG583.jpg

I don't recognize the inscription and couldn't find anything meaningful in the quick online search.

The ring is silver colored around the outside band with what looks like brushed metal with the arrow design around it. The inside is yellow and looks like gold. It is a little pitted and filled with dirt.

I don't know if it is plated or something.

The inscription reads: 18 A.M.G.E. (Or something close as I can tell.)

The ring weighs 0.20 oz

Anyone know if this is plated or something with a little value?

Thanks,

Patrick

Well after looking over the photo and squinting for way too long a period, I believe it to read....
18 k. H.G.E. = heavy gold electroplating. That's what I think the inscription reads. Hopefully this information is found to be useful or helpful in some way. I could very well be wrong. But that's what I'm seeing written. Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS.

Aargh, if only I could read the fine print.

No idea on the ring ID but congrats on the bling.

OK, I just studied it for awhile with my old eyes and figured out what it said.

18k HGE. There is also an ichthus after the E.

Awww. it's gold plated.

The imprint "18k HGE" on gold essentially means that the gold is costume jewelry with little or no value. "HGE" stands for "hard gold electroplated," which means the object is not solid 18 karat gold throughout. "18k" refers to the type of plating used on the outer surface of the object.
