...well, parts of one anyways.
My friend, BuckIdgr, and I walked the property today. We found a piece of a mason jar seal at the home site. Then we walked along the creek and found a couple pieces of pottery. We then made our way to the old road and big creek. A couple weeks ago, a friend brought an excavator and he and his nephew cleared some paths that the tornadoes messed up a couple years ago. They didn’t know exactly where the trails were and they got off track a little. In doing so, they uncovered a trash site. This is where we uncovered the parts to an F100. Then on the way out, we found a couple bottles from the old party spot. We were only armed with a pinpointer and hand shovel. We have a spot to detect later in the spring.

That'll keep you busy!
Lots to be recovered yet with the hints of age you've turned up on your site...

reminds me when i was a boy, ford changed their half ton designation from f-100 to f-150, my Dad bought a new truck that year, and it had f-150 on one fender, and f-100 on the other.
never knew if it was a one of a kind, or they did it for a while.

Wonder if the truck parts were deposited there by the tornado...

The oldest thing there is pic 5. That's a nice hand forged hinge. Barn door or large gate hinge...You'll find more goodies!

When I see sq. nails I always have hope for a site, and your's has potential.
I take it you have little or snow/frost in the ground.

Liking the twisted rod iron door latch-still has a repurpose life to it.

If I had an old F100 and was missing the emblem off of my quarter panel.....I'd probably pay 35 dollars for one, maybe more?

Maybe they left money under the seat!

I like old bottles, too. which is what got me started on the site. These, are not old enough for me. Word of mouth was that was a big party spot. When? I am not exactly sure, but there was a bunch of pews around a circle when we first bought the property. Actually, they are still there, just deteriorated. And tons and tons of Bud Light cans, and obviously other beers and liquor bottles. So mid '80's to 90's i suppose.

No. The tornado actually started at about this area, but down in the creek. All those times I was told as a kid, "If a tornado comes, get into the lowest ground," did not hold true here. It followed the creek for miles. Anyway, I fixed up a map to show you what I have. A local historian told me the old town dump was on the corner. Well I always thought it was one of the corners that I have indicated with an oval on the map. But I kept finding old bottles/broken pottery/a shoe/hub cap/Mast lightening rod pieces (you know trash), along the ditches and creeks. Then I found this old map and I have an assumption that it was a different corner from old roads. I am hoping to get the historian out here this year and show him around, now that we have trails again.

Exposing that trash site could be a good thing. Your future luck may "hinge" on what you found ! Yes, pun intended. Good luck in the Spring.

Thanks, Pepper. So you think the hinge is hand forged? I pulled it out of the ground and seen all those square nails and was big time excited. I had to knock off all the dirt so we could get a real good look. And the door latch even appealed to the MR. Yes sir, my favorites for the day!

Interesting finds WD, sorry I missed this post of yours.
Hopefully, it was used for more than just a dump site and there was some silver coinage lost.

Best of luck when you get back,
Dave
