To post a pic of the better finds I've made since the first of the year( 2011) using the Fisher Goldbug Pro with 11 DD coil. I know,I know it's claim to fame is being a gold detector, but as you can see it'll find the relics too. It'll take some practice but I'm here to tell anyone this machine has some bang for your buck, it's an awsome little detector, I love it!!

That "64" button--could it be a Spanish button, or were they used by USA and CSA? Hispan had quite the dissertation the other day on similar type buttons.

Pete, thanks once again for sharing the awesome relics that turn up in the lowcountry. Not only rare, but the condition is always gem thanks to the extremely forgiving soil conditions. Congrats my friend :headbang:

It's a Palmetto officers civil war era hatpin probably from the 1850's. It was in 2 pieces when it was dug, but I sent it off and had it expertly repaired by a Mr Leonard Short. He's absoultely amazing at restorations of broken artifacts.A collector offered me 1300.00 for it after I dug it and told me he'd give me that for it when it was broken. So it's a very valuable piece.

It's a British revolutionary war button from about 1780.
