Hi,

I'm Tabdog. I know a few of you guys. I'm a Tesoro
freak. I have 5 Tesoro'es now. I love tha Compadre also.

I just found a diamond ring yesterday with my Vaquero.

If ya don’t want at read my story, skip down to tha ring.lol

Yesterday I made a new digger. It is freezing outside,
but I just had to try it out.

There is a girls soft ball complex just ½ mile down tha
road from my house.

This land used to belong to Alcoa Aluminum Plant. They
were a huge plant and there was a large community here
and the area around tha plant was like a city with all the
employees involved. This was just one of the community
activity sites they built.

Here you may be able to see tha remnants of an old road
going between those two trees behind tha fence. It was
probably built in tha 40’s or 50’s.

I have hunted here several times. I have found a few nice
things here. But mostly girls jewelry and clad.

I tried hunting around tha dug-outs, but tha ground was so
frozen, it was harder than ice.

Then I decided to hunt this area at the edge of where the
parking lot slopes off the edge.

2-5-5.jpg

This area was solid pull tabs. I really got tired of digging
them in tha frozen grass. I found a junk ear ring, a little
car and some clad.

2-5-7.jpg

I was really cold, but my new digger worked great.

This is tha best digger I have ever used.

2-5-6.jpg

I just make small holes, and this digger scoops tha dirt out
much better than a screw driver. It is almost indestructible.
It didn’t mark any targets,

And, it likes diamond rings!

2-5-8.jpg

The 4 small diamonds are real, but I don’t know what tha
3 red stones are. I hope they are rubies.

If tha ring is marked, I can’t read it.

2-5-9.jpg

But it is 14k yellow gold.

2-5-10.jpg

It was mixed in with a bunch of targets that included some
pull tabs and a penny.

I could not believe my eyes, but that ring was down there
with all that trash.

Someone was very sad to loose this one. It is small, but
very nice.

Thanks for lOOkin,

Tabdog

I am still excited about tha ring.

It was a shock.

Tha digger I fashoned out of an old Craftsman
1/2" drive, 15" long breaker bar. It's a kind of
ratchet, but it doesn't rachet. It is just used to
break stuborn bolts loose. It ended up being
12 1/2" long. It was not being used by me, and
I got a wild hair.

The handle of tha breaker bar is what I made tha
diggin end out of. Tha other end I cut off tha square
thingie and left a mushroom for tha end of tha
handle of tha digger to be fatter.

It is stainless steel and cost $25 plus shipping. It is
very hard steel and took several hours to grind into
tha shape I wanted.

Tha cost of production in using this method would be
cost prohibitive.

Go to Harber Freight Tools and get a 6" or bigger
bench grinder.

Tha high quality Craftsman Steel will cost you. Tha
patience to cut tha steel must be mustered.

Tha can of plastic dip to make tha handle grip was
about $8 at Lowes. When I got tha plastic dip, I put
4 coats on my probe and large screw driver. I put
bunches of coats on tha digger.

But, like I said, I love this digger.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Welcome to Tnet Tesoro forum, I have enjoyed reading your posts on the Finds site. I run a V machine also, would like to try others, but hate to spend time learning another when I'm having a great time with the V. You need to come south and hunt its going to be 76 degrees here today.

Great story! That digger looks really cool. I am going to have to try to make one of those.

Nice ring and the crappe' and junque aren't bad either! I haave a very cheap , small bench grinder and I know how hard it would be to grind that out by hand. Whew! I don't think I would have the stamina. I worked at a valve production plant once where they had a grinder that would do that in 30 minutes! It was huge! I have a Silver Umax as my backup detector and I love it! Tesoro makes some really good equipment. Monty
