I mourn not only

those of my friends that lost their lives in Nam . I also mourn those of my friends that came back in
body , but never reconciled with the real world after their 'senior trip'. Several of them are 'bush vets'
that have never really come home .

Those that were there will never forget . A lot of the folks back in the 'world' had already forgotten them
before they ever returned ; on foot or in a body bag .

My Vietnam Veteran hat says "We Were Winning When I Left". When asked politely i tell people when I left. When asked sarcastically I claim to have been the last SOB on the plane. That war was won on the battlefield and our illustrious "leaders" snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by letting nothings like John Kerry and Teddy Kennedy hold up the shipment of ammo to the south vietnamese. For those who weren't paying attention the last ground troops left Vietnam in March of 1973 and Vietnam fell in 1975. Boy that sure sounds like our army got their ass kicked doesn't it? They never bother to ask the Vietnamese Vietnam Veterans if they would be willing to fight it again or a new war against the United States.
