Hey guys, I was walking a creek looking for arrowheads and I found this stone with tooling marks on it. I was wondering if anyone new what it was? It kinda looks similar to a bone polisher or arrow straightener when I do a search but not sure. Its about 5" x 3" Thanks for looking!

It looks like those grooves were definitely man made. I see alot of use wear on that one.
They even go against the grain of the stone.
That could definitely be a shaft abraiding stone.
With that small gouge not going off the end of the stone..it looks like something smaller like point bases may have been ground on it also.
IMHO.
There is something odd about it though..does that larger groove go around the corner of the stone?
Can you post a photo of the side facing the bottom of the frame in all the photos?

Awesome thanks you ! Any opinions are greatly appreciated! I am very new to native american artifacts...near this particular area there were 2 archeological sites excavated. Ive been creekwalking at least a dozen times but havent found any arrowheads yet. Grabbed this because it looked man made to me
