Idiot Finds 280 Gold Bars

This might be one of the most painful articles I have read in a long time. A guy finds 280 gold bars sitting in a cave out in the middle of the Utah desert and what does he do? Leaves it there and calls the government. I wanted to slam my forehead against a brick wall.

Personally, I don't believe he found anything. He probably started it as a joke, but now that he has started all of this, there is no way he can turn it back, so he's just hiding.

How is this any different than the couple who found all of the gold coins in northern california a few years ago. Yes the coins were on their property but the coins didnt belong to them. They were allowed to keep them.

The laws in the U.S. these days are garbage when it comes to treasure hunting. They are all written in ways to ensure the finder is entitled to jack doodly. The gov official said if the bars are clearly stamped the army can claim all of it. Better believe the gov will be left in the pitch dark if i ever find anything. In to the furnace they go
