Who came to support the Republican candidate? Ron Paul. Marco Rubio. Ted Cruz? Rick Santorum. Everybody but Sarah Palin. If only Duh Guv' had weighed in, women wouldn't have overwhelmingly rejected the reactionary candidate.

He said it was a referendum on the Tea Party. And that proved to be correct.

Right?

Good luck to all,

Hasn't it been thirty years since the party in the White House won the state house in New Jersey?

This was the other "proof" offered in early 2009 that America had immediately become disenchanted with Mr. Obama. Sheer "uh" InSannity crowed and crowed about it - ignoring the well-established pattern.

Good luck to all,

Despite your bluster, you have no credence or political savvy.
Not that I like Christie, but I think you misjudged that race too.
The republican establishment hung Cuccinelli out to dry, and he still came in better than all of the polls suggested, And he had 2 vitriolic liars running against him.
If he defended himself the one with the REALLY deep pockets went after him,, And the other Backed his play and said" I am not them, Vote for none of the above".

Sorry, your dissection of political races has shown you must be better at something else, I hope.

"Bluster?" Nope. Facts.

"3.) Off-year elections favor the party out-of-power & [are] most popular with the base

"It is no secret that it has been decades since Virginia’s Governor’s mansion has gone to the same party in the White House. A second term president especially, favors Republicans this year. The major secret has been Cuccinelli’s popularity with the Republican base."

The 5 underpinnings of the Cuccinelli comeback | RedState

The last time the party in the White House won the Virginia state house was 1977. Obviously, you don't consider that to be an established pattern, let alone a trend.

I do.

As for New Jersey, Mr. Christie is clearly from the anti-Tea Party wing of the Republican Party. 2014 and 2016 are going to be fascinating! I'm ready to start cooking the popcorn this afternoon...

Good luck to all,

Although this is a travesty for Virginia, it is a great message to the rest of the US! Our candidate ran against the media, Socialists, Democrats, Uninformed voters,, and the Republican establishment. He finished within a few points of the progressive Clintonite. It shows that we still may win back the country!

I only wish that I had learned that the "libertarian" candidate was a socialist shill paid for by Obama bundlers before yesterday. Would be nice to have some journalists that cared about truth.
But I made my sign and stood at my polling place,, and met some great people.

OB,

You REALLY need to learn how to read a political race. Even though Cuccinelli lost, a message was sent loud and clear. Winning by 55,000 votes, wit hover 2 million voting, is hardly a "defining" victory. The tea Party is alive and doing quite well, not that I agree with everything they want.

This race has CLEARLY shown the disenfranchisement with the direction this country is going. When the vote is split almost 50/50, people like you need to pay attention. The last time this country was this polarized we ended up in The War of Northern Aggression. YOU also need to remember how this country works. We have the soap box, then the ballot box, then the cartridge box.

With the fact that nearly 50% of this country feels they have no representation, we are rapidly approaching the cartridge box. If you REALLY want what basically amounts to "mob" rule, your gonna get it. Just be careful what you wish for, you may find out you don't like what you wanted.

Considering the Dems outspent the Reps. 10 to 1 in VA, the Clintons had to be brought in, the Pres. had to show up, and a third party candidate had to be funded, I would hardly call this a victory for the Dems.

Anyone think the Dems can do this nationwide in 2014?

Sure - All they have to do is: Get the IRS involved.

A message was sent. The Tea Party candidate lost. In New Jersey, a reasonable Republican won by a landslide.

I doubt the party will hear it - but that's the obvious message.

I refuse to believe we are on the brink of mob rule or civil war. Most Americans are smarter and much more loyal than that.

Good luck to all,

maybe, and I say this as a maybe. Maybe the next time you'll do some "community organizing" or work a phone bank, or knock on doors or sumpin. But hey, if making a sign and

standing outside a poling place floats your boat, have at it.

How much money did the Koch bros toss into the Virginia race? Why did coocoocuccinelli just have to hate woman so much? I thought the tea party was against big brother intrusion or is that except when it comes to womans health, rights and lives then a bit of government intrusion is just fine?

See,, this is the problem... the ignorance of the left believed the lies that the democrat machine was spewing. Even Davest believes it, sure he probably read it on some blog, but he believes it and spreads it.

Since there wasn't any "Kotch money?" it is hard to fight the lies from Dems and the compliant media.

And Just like here, we keep explaining but some will not listen. They listen to the media propaganda machine of the regime, and that is all they want.

Women are like phones: They like to be held, talked to, and touched often.
But push the wrong button and your a$$ is disconnected!

if it was lies 44, all you had to do instead of telling us so, was list the positives and refute the lies.

Nice thing about Virginia is they require campaign funding reports.

The rest, you just have to look at coocooCuccinellis record.
