Since I don't have a gram scale to weigh several 1776-1976 bicent Ike's I just got, is there any other way to distinguish between the clad copper/nico vs the silver clad/copper? Don't want to dump them until I know.

Well I am pretty sure the only 1976 silver clad Eisenhower dollars were minted in San Francisco, so they will be S mint. I am pretty sure silver clad and normal clad dollars weigh the same, so you have to be able to tell by looking at it. Here is a pic of the rim if one of mine.

These are for the Eisenhower dollars:

Look for any of the following:

FEV = 1971-D (FEV) Friendly Eagle Variety

1972 Type II

Also, keep any from 1973 (those were not intended for circulation, NIFC), any 'S' mint coins (some of the S mint coins are 40% silver: the only ones that could be silver are 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, and 1976). Also any that are in really nice uncirculated condition.

The silver clad coins weigh about two grams more than the copper clads. If a person can detect a silver clad half by looking at the rims he should have no trouble finding the silver Ikes.
