<img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=822867"/>

Take some time while your not hunting to scout for better areas.. always be looking.

Ebony and ivory. I remember that!

I will and have but all have crops on them rite now. I dont see the sense to ask to look on the fields till they have been removed and are bare again. Fall is coming in a few months then the hunt will be on again.

Rock you never know where you may find artifacts. In a sense, I stay on a hunt. I keep my eye on the ground any place their is dirt. You don't have to stop until fall. Check this morrow mt. Out that I found on the shoulder of the road. It was in the mail carriers tracks right beside a mailbox.

No need to be bored. Just take a simple walk down the road. You probably won't find as much, but you will be occupied.

One thing I do is start some research on colonial era history of some areas and do some metal detecting in between.. I've often stumbled onto Native sites while doing that.
Good ground is good ground.
Also.. If you think about it.. It made much more sence to overpower the natives with superior weapons and utilize land that had already been cleared for paths and made liveable then to start hacking away at old growth forest.

Well impressive. On the bright side, as soon as the rain clears out in a few days there should be more ground exposed in some areas!

Well we got 3 inches of rain in 2 days. Maybe later on in the week I might try going to the creek. Now some dont know this but when it rains here the banks are made mostly of red clay so it is really muddy water. In order to walk the creek you have to see the rocks or you might fall and hurt yourself. Ill wait till it stops raining before I go. 2nd day back to work and I am worn out. HH, rock

My hunting is about over for the year, too! Unless we have a early harvest and a dry fall. Then they will work up some ground, and I can hunt in the winter. The crops are overlapping the rows, and the turnrows are grown up in weeds. I never quit looking at the ground or hunting new spots, but its tough this time of year. Sure do wish for some of the rain that Rock is getting! Lightman

The sun was trying to come out today but I dont know if it ever did. Im not bored anymore I am back to work now and feeling more like my old self now. Starting to feel like going on a hunt again. Maybe this week I can hit the creek Ill see.

Rock,

With all that rain coming through your way, I bet it washed something good out. Good luck!

I hope you have done a hunt? With all the rain the grass needs cutting here. I hope to do it soon as the yard dries out some. I made a sifter out of a bucket today and hope to try it out in the next week or so if no more rain comes.

I have had two really successful hunts recently. I'm walking out of work now. Guess where I'm heading. I'll give you a hint. If I find any thing, I'll post today's with what pops and I found over the holiday. It has been less than ideal weather for hunting here as well. Rain and thunder storms every day. Couple twisters. I was picking at you Rock, with my other reply. Honestly, it seems like most members have slowed down a bit.

I don't want to hog this thread with this.. but..if that thing slows down like they usually do when it makes that turn that's expected you may be in for some serious flooding.

All of you guys are in trouble. It appears that parts of NC will see some action. Luckily (well if the storm follows the map and not a Tom Tom) it's going to go around me. Knock on wood!! Watch it plow through here like a Tasmanian devil.

Dang hurricane is coming now? I was waiting for next week so the creek could clear up some. I already knew where I was going to try and now more rain is coming. Crazy weather this yr and last yr we couldnt get a drop of rain. I was wondering if you ever used a tater rake in a creek?
@ GB this thread is more of a chatter than any certain subject. It doesnt matter to me who or what goes on it.
