I'm still practicing and found this today

Well everyone. Thanks for all your input on the Minelab Excalibur 1000. I am getting the hang of it now and I don't miss my other underwater metal detector at all. I haven't dove this place in years, and went back today. Water temp was 44 degrees and it was cold but well worth it for an old woman! I thought the gold ring was fake, but no. It says 14ka on the inside and an inscription that is unreadable. The two other rings are silver, and of course some clad. I had fun, and will certainly go back because this was only 20 minutes of hunting underwater. I really appreciate everyone helping me tune my minelab. It is off auto, and I am using manual. That's when I started to find alot more. I love you guys! Myabe I'll find a few gold coins one day like you all. Those are awfully nice looking.

I'M JEALOUS!!!!!!!!

Just got in from hunting a yard. The house is only about 60 years old, monster walnut trees, very little trash and I ended up with 13 pennies, no wheaties and only 4 are copper. The other 9 are zinkins. Not a very productive hour.

Great job! Now warm up and hit it again!!!

Now thats what I call good practicing. Keep it up, and you become an expert one day. Heck I know some that call themselves experts that don't find that much.

WOW! In 20 minutes??!! That makes a darn good hourly wage just at melt value of the gold and silver. I'd be tickled if it took me all day to find that stuff! Good Job!

That is awesome for only 20 minutes of hunting! Get back out there and hit that water spot good and hard - no telling how many rings you'll come up with!!!!!

I love my Excalibur 1000. I started with the 800, which I still have as a backup machine, but hard to go back to that small coil after using the 1000.

nice finds and in only 20 minutes. are you diving the great lakes ? I'm diving lake erie and we're still in the 50 degree range, not bad for november. what was your old detector ?
