I was speaking with a local business man the other day about starting a club back up in the area. I mentioned it was hard to come up with a site that would be welcoming to a bunch of grubby, outspoken, prideful folks that enjoy detecting. 
And he says,
"Hey, you could meet here". >Here< is about 5 miles south of Lexington, about a mile before you get to Nicholasville.
Of course he has more than a passing interest in detecting, since he also sells detectors. He is the local White's and Tesoro dealer. And he might be handy if you have broken down outdoor power equipment or needing a scooter.
Anyway, I'd like to get a feel for any/all interest. If there is enough interest shown, I will get with him and set up an organizaional meeting.
