Hello to all,
Since "diggertim" introduced himself, I figured I'd take the opportunity to do the same. My name is Jake and I live in Allentown, PA (not far from Catasauqua!). I've been in and out of the hobby for the past 20 years and still have my first Whites 6000 DI that I purchased. I've since graduated to the Whites XLT and have been trying to get out to hunt on a regular basis. It's a great hobby and I look forward to sharing my "treasures" with the group and hope to learn how to get the most out of my XLT. I hope to meet some of the locals in my area in the future!

Thanks again,
Jake

Allentown, it takes me 5 hours to drive there to pick up my daughter at college. There are some nice antique shops there.

Hi Jake,
I am just down 100 from you below Pottstown. Great area for MDing. I just got my Minelab about 2 months ago. There are many TNet members in our area. Good luck and keep digging!

Is that the town Billy Joel wrote a song about?

That would be the town. I recently got in touch with a member of the local Historical Society and hope to turn up some new hunting prospects in the future. I hooked up with Diggertim and we have some spots lined up (as long as the ground holds out in this freezing weather!). We both have new XLT's, so any tips on improving our success with them would be greatly appreciated. Currenlty we're just going with the preset options, finding lots of clad and a few silver pieces, but always willing to learn!

Thanks again for the warm welcome to this fantastic site.

Jake
