IRISHTOWN[1853-1880] "LEPRECHAUN"S POT OF ......"

Hi everyone,This morning i had to go to the mover shop to get new blades for the mover. The mover shop is located in Bridge Street and between 1853 to 1880 the irish gold miners had their camp here on the tail end of the Bendigo creek. There no sign of the camp as the whole area has been replaced with modern buildings .I did notice that on the service road behind the mover shop and some road works had just started and went about aquiring the new blades. After that i went for a look and that a bit of a swing, after about an hour, got a soft beep and started to dig.Dig and dig and dig i did.At about 10 inches i found this small brass bowl and i started to think about the irish and pots of gold.yes i let my imagination get the better of me.Gee when i got the bowl out of the ground,it was quite heavy and raced home to see what was i it besides dirt.Quess what ,dirt was all that was in it. :( :( :( All the same nice to go home with something and real nice day too.

Very nice O'Tinny Pan
Now go back...if you are pulling that out, there are bound to be other great things there also. Maybe if you sing some irish ballads as you hunt, the leprechauns will show you where their gold lies......

Nice unique find.
As a random question that you have probably answered before-what kind of detector do you use?

Cheers mate,
Jesse

Oh come on guys, there aint no damned leprechauns in Austraila! I recently read that the kangaroos ate em all centuries ago! The odds are long that pot belonged to a leprechaun............ ;)

Hi A.P,Honestly holloween got the better of you !!!! ;D ;D ;D and i,m not going back to the site because theres surfacing of granite and Quartz.I don,t own a jack-hammer.The only area with any semi-hard ground was near the edge of the creek.About 45feet by 10 feet.i did also find a 1972 five cent piece not silver and worth about 3.4444 U>S cents lol

Yeah, the kangaroos in the southern part of Australia are especialy blood thirsty, very cunning & wiley as well. Tinpan can tell us horrible stories of the terrible carnage during the Great Roo Wars of the 1970's, the death, the destruction..........whole families mutilated by those damned kangaroos! I think thats why they have to put roo's on their coins...........a condition of the peace treaty. Tinpan recently told me he lost a leg in the Great Roo Wars, he was pinned down in a trench by two bucks while a Joey chewed it off! He grabbed his leg & beat all three of em to death with it. Must be true............Ive never seen a pic of Tinpan other than close ups! I watch way too much discovery channel. Or was it the sci-fi channel?????
