Welcome to TreasureNet.

Sorry, natural rock, not artifact.

..... not an artifact. Flowing water or water erosion is the force that makes holes like that. I have a section in my rock garden for rocks with holes in them, I pick up and take them home every chance I get.

Thx I was wondering how the holes got there!

Could also have been a fossil like a crinoid that fell out, fossils fall out of stones a lot and leave holes where they were.

Picture below is crinoids, when they fall out they leave holes. If you look inside the hole on yours you may see matching rings, pictures posted don't allow us to see inside the hole.

Thx that a possibility it looks like some ridges in the hole. Are cuboid from around the same period as amminoids? We have rocks with those on the property.

Artifact?

Opinions and thoughts?

Sorry Just a piece of Sandstone? that resembles an artifact (Axe)

Keep on looking tho...

I’d say a piece of limestone with a crinoid fossil that’s fallen out leaving the round hole. Wether limestone or sandstone it’s not the right material for most artifacts.
