Just like Hollowpointred said, the extra buck is more than worth the pin point-feature. And the pin point feature is worth alot more than that after you realize that learning to "Read" how the pin pointer is behaving will also allow you to "See" better what exactly it is you are about to dig or not dig. The PP'er therefore in my opinion is priceless.

Personally, my ace 150 finds more trash than treasure and it only goes 4 inches deep.. If I could do it over again I would have bought a White's Prism..Its only $200 and it has better features than the ace 150 or 250.
There is nothing wrong with the Prizms. But for $200.00 you must be talking about the P2 unit. I believe the P2 is the best bang for the buck of the Prizms. But it in no way has more features than the Ace 250. The only thing any Prizm has over the Ace 250 is that the pinpoint button can lock on.
The Ace 250 has 12 target segments - P2 has 8. 250 has true notch accept or reject - p2 has a progressive notch. 250 runs on 4 AA batteries - p2 runs on higher priced 9 volts. Ace 250 has a smaller than stock coil at 4.5 inches the p2 does not. You would have to go up to the p4 or p5 for a closer comparison. But the p4 and p5 still comes up short with the notch, small coil and segments. Plus they are 400 and 500 dollars. Ace 250 can be purchased new for 200.00
