Better to ask than to always wonder. Itā€™s natural and the material looks like a slate/ shale type. Itā€™s a layered stone type and would separate or break with any type of pressure applied to it.
Thanks! I was actually drawn to what I thought was a fossil on the ā€˜frontā€™ , but I think the lines are from water erosion. I appreciate the feedback!
