Hello, Its been awhile since my last post. But I went out today and found what I believe to be an old war bullet. I found this buried in the bank of a large creek. In West Seneca NY. Does anyone know the history of this area. Anyway here are a couple of pics. The bullet? is about the size of a quarter and looks to have hit something. I look forward to keeping you posted with any new finds.
Thanks xlthunter

Wow, hard to say it's so mangled. It has the rings like an old minie would have, but it doesn't have the color of lead thats been in the ground 100+ years. lead get's a white or brown patina as they age in the ground. Hard to tell, find another one not so eaten up :D

Certain ground conditions will not cause the lead bullet to oxidize. I have pulled Civil War bullets out of thick clay that were as black as a brand new bullets.
