Looks to be a quartz rock by your pictures.

I found a knife point ten feet away from this piece. On September 29 I found it in a remote location. Maybe I'm over analyzing every rock in the area. They sure look alike.

100_2087.JPG Id like to see the one in your avatar. Yeah I believe they picked up strange looking rocks just like we do. But quartz is really hard to tell. If they used quartz it would look like the cortex has been removed, the flaking is hard to see but usually the edges have some secondary flaking on them that you can only feel or see with a microscope. Here is a scraper I have from quartz. I have about 50 all in different shapes and sizes. Good luck in your search.

I have no idea what I have? It's black but I think its brown underneath. I was told its a adina knife. Always looking for different opinions. I live in central Wisconsin.

I bought it last week at a artifact show. I cant find these in my area. I have another one to show you if you like. I dont know what it is called but sure is pretty. I bought it for the color. I find either quartz or black chert where I go. I just recently have started buying some.

Every piece is just amazing. If you don't mind me asking, how much does a piece like that go for. I have never been to an artifact show. Kind of curious on the value of mine. I would never sale it,just wondering.

Well when I get to be a Charter Member in a week or so I will let you know. But till then I cant do any type of selling. Yours is a Woodland Period Piece. Google Turkey Tail Arrowheads and see what comes up. I have seen them at all different prices, but not any 2 are the same completely. But thanks for asking.
