But quartz is really hard to tell. If they used quartz it would look like the cortex has been removed, the flaking is hard to see but usually the edges have some secondary flaking on them that you can only feel or see with a microscope. Here is a scraper I have from quartz. I have about 50 all in different shapes and sizes. Good luck in your search.
I have no idea what I have? It's black but I think its brown underneath. I was told its a adina knife. Always looking for different opinions. Every piece is just amazing. If you don't mind me asking,how much does a piece like that go for. I have never been to an artifact show. Kind of curious on the value of mine. I bought it last week at a artifact show. I cant find these in my area. I have another one to show you if you like. I dont know what it is called but sure is pretty. I bought it for the color. I find either quartz or black chert where I go. I just recently have started buying some.
