I hit a few trails today checking out a few new spots, found some nice cellar holes where a house and barn stood. First find was the sterling buckle. didnt know it was silver till i got it home and cleaned it. 2nd target was the silver spoon, I still need to check out the hallmarks on it. Also found a hubley fire truck i think, on the way home i stopped off at a local church to check out the front yard and to my surprise 2 silvers within a foot apart from each other. definitely a few places to visit again.
enjoy,
Pro-

update: added a closer view of the hallmark, seems to be "Arm & hammer", a Fox" and an Angel"

No idea, my first thought was mid-19th C but changed my guess to late, anyway its a good complete example, so update us when you get the facts.

Great finds. I really like that buckle.

It just amazes me how much silver is lying around and often in the most unlikely spots.

I've never lost a single gold or silver object in my life yet every day, someone manages to dig up more. (I did intentionally throw a gold wedding band on the train tracks at one time though but that's another story).

I'm aware that silver was a much more common material back in the day compared to now but dang, there sure is a whole bunch of it just waiting to be dug up.

That's a great day ! A nice and rather old silver spoon is a very special find , and it's in nice condition- I would polish it up and use
it every day ! (i'm freaky for old silver spoons )
