Its a first for me!!

Howdy everyone. I found this token about a month ago. Being from nw ct were in a ice age and the ground is so frozen I would need dynamite to do any digging. This is the first token i have ever found and it gets better, it's a civil war federal token! I have never seen one before. I found in the middle of an old wagon rd that I started working at the end of November there's a bunch of cellar holeswhere I found a of and a fatty 1860 Indian head penny but I didn't find this object near any of them. Maybe it was dropped by an old stage coach. Who knows but it makes me wonder

I need to get a better pic it's hard because it's in really rough shape. It's very similar to the one in your picture except the tails side says army and navy and what I can see of the year I believe it's 1863

Looks like you have a great place to hunt. Now all you need is some of that global warming to kick in. Out here in western Oregon we've had our obligatory two weeks of 25 degree weather, the has fog lifted, I saw my shadow, and now we'll have 6 more weeks of rain and gooey mud. Our ground is usually only really good for digging for 10 minutes a year, and that occurs about 1:AM in June. It's like concrete in the summer time, and too thick to drink in the winter, but we work around it. Love your token, your ground will thaw, think of the good stuff that's waiting for you to pass the coil over.
