It's cent, not penny

I'm getting real fed up with people calling the 0.01 piece in the US the penny. Come one guys, the proper term is cent. It pisses me off when people can't use proper terms for highly important elements of life like this one. Those of you calling it the penny should probably feel ashamed but maybe not. I haven't decided on that yet.

A "CENT" is a unit of monetary measure. As in ten cents.

A "PENNY" is the name for the coin whose value is one cent.

SO, a penny is valued at one cent.

Make cents?

Just like a unit of measure of a family is called a "CHILD" or "CHILDREN" (cent or cents )

A child can be a boy or a girl (PENNY)

Every boy or girl has a name (Lincoln, Wheat, Indian Head)

Same topic pops up about every year or so. If it degrades like it always seems to, to insults and attacks on members that call it a penny thread gets locked.
