It's not all about the finds. I only found 3 today. But, I've rejoined the ranks.

The last time I spent a few hours in the water, hunting for treasure, was almost 30 years ago!

Today, thanks to the encouragement from here and from a certain OBN, I spent sometime water hunting.
It was a very long time coming back to something I used to enjoy so much! Today, I've successfully rejoined
the ranks of actual water hunters and not just an old fogey who just talks about the good ole days.

It won't be my main hunting, but boy was that fun!! And now I have this option opened to me again.
Thanks !

Here's the grand total of all my finds today:

2015 (183).jpg

Yep! That's it! Wonderful ain't they? LOL

But, I couldn't be happier!

2015 (184).jpg

Blingie made sure to claim this one and it was tough doing an acid test with
him all wrapped up in it, but I managed. ;)

I know my testing skills aren't as good as someone who knows what they're
doing. It is marked 10k but when I did the acid test it seemed to hold for a fair amount of time.
But, it also seemed to fade after a good while. Either I don't know what I'm doing or maybe this is ever so
slightly less than 10k. Weighed in at 2.9 grams (without Blingie).

In any case! I have rejoined the ranks after many, many years! Could be a decent start, eh? ;) LOL

Congrats on getting back in the water! Nice score on the gold!
I guess Blingie will be wearing that for a while! Lol! One of these days we won't be able to see him for all the bling!

I've been told I also need to get into the water and hunt if I want to find the gold. Have to get a detector that can swim first. Lol!

It really can be a fun way to spend some time. But, that's also why I went with the ATP. (All Terrain) . I must admit, I didn't get the box wet today, (no trust ;) LOL )
But, it's supposed to allow even that along with all the other hunting I do. Perfect "all around" detector, for me. Because I planned on getting back in the drink one day.:)

Well, that would be stretching the truth as far as it might be. ;)
I've already explained on here that I do NOT scream out, make a fuss, climb trees, do a jig when I find something good.
It reminds me of the first 49'er who shouted out GOLD!!! Then, looked around and said to himself, that might not have been
one of my best ideas. ;)

Thanks for your help friend! Rest assured, we WILL do it again. :)

Have submerged mine all the way to arm cuff it will take it.The only issue I had was after 2 yrs the control box connecting points the two screw points, snapped off from the water pressure going back and forth but Garrett is covering it.I think I am going to re enforce by putting a connector to the speaker box kind of like a copper water pipe hanger. Anderson shaft uses that point as a connector for their shaft.

Nice job using the old ATP for one of it's intended uses. If you aren't going to get it wet, you may as well use a Minelab, lol.

Slow, my post was a joke aimed at Cjon455. Please don't take offense, cause none was intended at Minelab owners lol.

LOL, I more then likely walked right over this chain, one of the weaknesses of the Excalibur...

Yeah, ya see...there is something that happens when one is around long enough. It's called experience! I think I chose well. (For me...of course! ;) )

Ya know, I wasn't going to say ANYthing about the aspect that your detector couldn't even find this in an air test. ;)
