It's the first one, Kemosabi!

Myself and Sandsifter hit a picnic area behind one of Delaware's beach communities and I found this. It's a first for me with my Minelab SE. It was about 8 inches deep with an erratic signal but, thinking it might be a gold ring, I dug it anyhow. It's a good thing nobody saw me when I found it. They woulda thought I was nutz. Other than the nickel, I only found a small amount of clad. It was a good day.

Pete

There's no discernable date. But I'm still happy as a little girl!

When I was a kid I would get buffs in change on my paper route all the time, and never really thought much about it. Wish I had kept some of them.

YP, thanks for the note about TD.

Good going on your first Buff, I found my first and only about two weeks ago, there a real thrill to find my hunting buddie thought I lost my mind as he was about 100 yards away watching in dismay as im pointing my fingers out my head and thrashing around like a bull just to let him know what I found ;D

You'll be finding plenty more with the SE, then the V-Nicks will start popping up.

Re: It's the first one, Kemosabi!

congrats on the first. When I started swinging a minelab I starting finding LOTS of nickels because I can tell about 90 percent of the time when I have a nickel under my coil. I stumbled across a trick for it. I block the foil on smartscreen. This puts a little dark colored square in the bottom right side of the screen. If the cursor covers the square and is one line above the bottom of the screen, 90 percent of the time you got yourself............a nickel...........try it out.
